|Sheena Jeffers is a dance educator from Richmond, Virginia. She danced on a competition team for 6 years, before moving to Virginia Beach. Once in Hampton Roads, Sheena studied dance under Denise Wall while she was a student at Governor's School for the Arts. She holds a BA in English, and a BS in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, and she is currently working on her Master of Science in Dance Education at Old Dominion University. Sheena has studied extensively in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary and modern. She is a member of the National Dance Education Organization, certified by Dance Masters of America, a dance reviewer for Richmond Times-Dispatch, and she is the Dance Expert writer for Answers.com. Sheena is also owner and content manager for Ballet Shoes & Bobby Pins, an internationally-known online blog that discusses the dance life, career and dream. Sheena has danced in the Broadway smash hit Smokey Joe's Cafe in Miyazaki, Japan, danced on the VCU Dance Team, and she made a special appearance dancing with the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders. Sheena's students have been accepted into Governor's School programs, colleges and honored as "Up and Coming" students to watch. Sheena believes dance has the power to tell stories and create strong individuals. She is addicted to coffee and reading books. No matter what city she's in, you can find her in a dance class.|
Jaimie Goodwin grew up in Virginia Beach, VA where she trained in performing arts under Denise Wall. She made her acting debut as a guest star on the hit new TV show Vegas, and appeared as a co-star on Oxygen's "All The Right Moves."
She has been seen as a top ten finalist on SYTYCD and is happy to continue to return to SYTYCD as an 'Allstar.' Some more of her TV credits include a McDonalds commercial, several episodes of DWTS (both as a guest performer and dancing for artists such as Adele and Annie Lennox), a recurring role on Glee, Two and a Half Men. As well as performing at both the 82nd and 85th Academy Awards, The Emmy's, and the 2012 and 2013 American Music Awards.
You can also find her on the big screen in High School Musical 3 and Rock of Ages. Jaimie has had the privilege of joining Rasta Thomas and the Bad Boys of dance on several European tours, and continued to work as assistant Choreographer to Sonya Tahey for both the Miley Cyrus and Kylie Minogue world tours. Her most recent company credits include being one of the lead dancers in Shaping Sound.
Jaimie is also proud of her roles as the female lead in Shawn Hooks video “Every Red Light” and the female lead in Movement One, a dance documentary. Through all of her performance roles Jaimie still continues to enjoy teaching at studios and conventions around the world.
Ava Bernstine affectionately called Flava, native to Los Angeles, is one of the Industry's sought after dancers. She is a well-versed dancer whose dance style is influenced by, but not limited to her hip-hop, jazz, ballet and contemporary training. Ava has toured the world with Justin Timberlake's 2007 FutureSex/LoveShow under the direction of Marty Kudelka as well as Britney Spears’s Circus and Femme Fatale tours. Some of her other credits include Usher, Chris Brown and Nikki Minaj. She was also a principal dancer in the feature film "FAME."
Prior to her dance career taking off, Ava attended Cal State University Northridge where she studied journalism and is actively pursuing her writing in Arts and Music Entertainment on the side. Ava has also worked along side Debbie Allen since 2001, assisting her in multiple projects and teaching at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. She is a young, energetic, and passionate dancer who, although teaches, is humbled and considers herself to still be a student of the art.
She enjoys teaching and believes that it is important as a dancer to know your history, and because dance is ever evolving, know where it's going. Her style is fun, hard-hitting and funky and has influences from her modern and jazz training. Although feminine, she can get down just as hard as the guys. Ava's favorite quote: "Why Walk, When You Can Dance?"
|Jason Parsons has created work for Rasta Thomas's Bad Boys of Dance, Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet, Odyssey, HoustonMet and the Evolution Dance Company. Internationally his work has been performed at the Gwang Ju Biennale Festival (South Korea), Baudelaire (Japan), Artedanza (Italy), Nokia Awards (Czech Rep.), Minjockchoom Cultural Festival (South Korea), Puglia Danza (Italy) and the Seoul Contemporary Jazz Dance Festival (South Korea). In May of 2007 Jason collaborated with Italian Artist Elena Parisi to create a moving installation for her premiere exhibition in Milan, Italy. Since February 2008, Jason has been creating and premiering full length concert works for himself and his troupe of dancers. Jason and his dancers have performed in New York City at the Joyce Theater, Cedar Lake Theater, Joyce Soho, Dixon Place, Manhattan Movement and Art Center, Alvin Ailey and for APAP at Carnegie Hall. He most recently worked on Teddy Forance and Jonathan Arpinos's dance film Misery Loves Company. Jason was on faculty at Steps in New York City and has taught all over the U.S., Canada, Netherlands, England, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Cypress and the Czech Republic.
Deja Riley is a thriving, young artist from Virginia Beach, VA. She was raised there and trained at the studio of the greats, Denise Wall's Dance Energy, Ltd. Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Flamenco, Hip Hop are just a few of the styles she has studied and as she sharpens her craft she continues to grace stages all over the world with her passion. She has graced the stage with artists such as Trey Songz, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry to name a few. Living in beautiful, sunny LA with her sisters (phenomenal dancer, Taja Riley & hair, make-up & styling extraordinaire, Bobbie Riley) she is living out her dream of being a hard-working professional dancer amongst her many other talents, of music, fashion and business. |Cara Goodwin is originally from Virginia Beach, VA, where she trained and later taught at the nationally renowned dance studio - Denise Wall's Dance Energy. She has a B.A. in Theatre and Dance from James Madison University. From there, she had the honor to work for several companies, including contracts with Cirque du Soleil and Stiletto Entertainment. She has been seen in various commercials, performed in the inaugural parade and was a featured teacher in a promo video for Madison Square Garden. She has also performed all around the US and internationally for various events and shows. She currently produces, directs and choreographs for her company, Beyond Lines Contemporary Dance Company in NYC. Cara has been on faculty at Broadway Dance Center in NYC and is currently on faculty at Old Dominion University. She also teaches for the Virginia Governor's School for the Arts and travels the US and Canada as a Master Teacher and choreographer.|
Denise Wall is the artistic director and co-owner of Denise Wall's Dance Energy. A respected teacher and an award winning choreographer for more than 30 years, Denise is devoted to the art of dance. Denise's students have gone on to perform on Broadway, television, commercials, film and in professional dance companies. The American Ballet Theatre, the Fox television show, So You Think You Can Dance, Susan Stroman's revival of The Music Man, Disney and Universal Theme Parks and the films Step Up, High School Musical 3, Footloose and Rock of Ages have all featured DWDE Dancers. Students in her pre-professional dance company consistently win scholarships and titles at conventions and competitions, as well as scholarships to attend professional dance schools and colleges.
Denise has worked with Grammy Award winning recording artist Teddy Riley, Blackstreet, Chauncey Hannibal, Monifah, the group 8th Ave., and many other professionals who come to her for private lessons. She travels throughout the United States and Canada teaching master classes and adjudicating for national conventions such as Nuvo Productions, Jump Dance Convention, and Dance Masters of America. Denise has taught for the New York City Dance Alliance Summer Intensive, and has been an ambassador and faculty member for the Dance Teacher Summit in New York City, since 2009. Her choreography has been featured in four Liberty Tax commercials. Most recently of which took place in Times Square for the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty, which featured American Idol singer Chris Richardson. Denise has worked with Debbie Allen and was on faculty for her summer workshops. She was the first recipient of the Humanitarian of Dance Award presented by the Federation of Dance Competitions. Denise was recently honored to have her 2nd cover of Dance Teacher Magazine and was awarded the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Dance Teacher Summit Gala in New York City. She also received the 2012 Presidents Award given by Dance Master of America in Anaheim, California.
Denise recently worked with her son, Travis Wall, and Shaping Sound Dance Company in Los Angeles on their first show "Come Together."
|Matthew Griffin began dancing at age 19 after seeing his first Cirque production. Inspired by the capabilities and artistry of the human body, Matthew took a journey to develop and explore his own creative capabilities. A Few years later, Matthew had the amazing opportunity to fulfill his dream and dance for Cirque du Soleil. Matthew now has transitioned his creative energies to conceptual creation and production design. Utilizing the tools and work ethics he acquired through dance, Matthew has begun a new journey to create tangible visualizations of the craziness he sees in his head. He has designed and created for Lady Gaga, Nike, Broadway Bares, SpinKick Pictures, Soho House NYC, Flaming Flowers, Central Park Summer Stage, Cecilia Marta, Brian Thomas, and other leading creatives. Ashley Adamek is a NYC based dancer/singer. She began dancing at the age of seven and began performing professionally at the age of 16. After graduating with a BA in Music with a Concentration in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she moved to New York City to pursue her career full time. Since then, Ashley has enjoyed a versatile and exciting range of projects in both the musical theatre and commercial dance world. Most recently, Ashley completed a year and a half run on Broadway with Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, finishing up the run as swing/dance captain. She has toured around the country as well as abroad with the Broadway National Tour of Chicago the musical playing Hunyak and covering Roxie Hart and got to live the rock star life touring as a Singer/Dancer with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in their Winter 2011 tour. Ashley also had the privilege of working on the Whoopi Goldberg produced World Premier of White Noise directed and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo. She has performed regionally across the country at the Paper Mill Playhouse, Casa Manana, Musical Theatre West, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and the North Carolina Theatre.
Commercially, Ashley has performed with recording artists Kanye West (SNL), Florence + the Machine (SNL), Ne-Yo and Lady Sovereign (Xbox 360 Launch), and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (2011 Winter Tour) and has performed in industrials for Target and the Xbox 360 Kinect Launch.
|Tyler Wall continues to pursue his career as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. He can be seen in the latest remake of the movie "Footloose" in the rodeo bar scene. Since moving to LA he has been featured in performances on programs like "Dancing with the Stars", "The 2009 VMA's", Disney, Nickelodeon and BET. Tyler has made appearances on Disney's "Shake It Up" including the music video "Watch Me". He has performed live with artists such as Eminem, Far East Movement, Jawan Harris, and Chelsea Handler. Most recently Tyler can be seen as one of the dancers for Nickelodeon's "The Fresh Beat Band Tour." In his off time he loves to return to his hometown Virginia Beach to teach, choreograph and take class.|
|Collin Heyward began his training at The Academy of Dance and Gymnastics in Newport News, VA, under the direction of Linda Haas, and later at Denise Wall's Dance Energy in Virginia Beach. Mr. Heyward also attended several dance intensives, including Earl Mosley's Institute for the Arts and Hofesh Shechter Company, and has performed works by a variety of choreographers including Robert Battle, Sidra Bell, Francisco Martinez, Elisa Monte and Scott Rink. He has made guest appearances with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Company Stefanie Batten Bland, and in the revival of E. Clement Bethel's The Legend of Sammie Swain, directed by Philip A. Burrows in Nassau, Bahamas. He is also a featured dancer in the Fox Searchlight film Black Nativity, directed by Kasi Lemmons and choreographed by Otis Sallid. Mr. Heyward is an honors graduate of the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program in Dance and was a member of Ailey II from 2010 to 2012. |
|Cami Walton is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a BA in theatre and has been part of the Denise Wall's Dance Energy family since the studio opened in 1993. As a performer she performed in the closing night Gala for New York City Dance Alliance and performed as a soloist and guest artist with the Philip Deal Dance project. While completing her degree, she toured with the Children's Theatre of Hampton Roads, creating and performing original works. Cami's love for the arts also led her to pursue her passion off stage, as a both a stage manager and choreographer. She spent two years with the Virginia Stage Company working with production on mainstage shows, and as the Education and Outreach Administrator creating and leading workshops for youth in the Hampton Roads area. Her choreography has been featured in Virginia's Stage Company's "A Christmas Carol," and Generic Theatre's "Urinetown" and "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson." Cami continues to share her passion for dance as a teacher and choreographer. She is currently Assistant Director of Company and faculty with Denise Wall's Dance Energy. Her goal is to provide a strong technical foundation for her students and create a safe, loving environment in which they can grow and flourish as artists.|
BT is a Director & Emmy Nominated Choreographer Brian Thomas, also known as "BT" has choreographed for legends such as Michael Jackson, Liza Minnelli, Missy Elliot, Destiny's Child, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Nelly Furtado, Pink, and Whitney Houston to name a few as well as many other television events, industrials, and live stage performances.
BT was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2001 choreographing Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary Special, brought LIZA's BACK to the stage in 2002-2003, and was recognized again in 2011 from the Daytime Emmy Awards of Television for the Outstanding Children's Series Sesame Street. Recently, BT was nominated for a GLAM award for directing Masters of the Universe, best music video in NYC happening this December 2013.
Teaching all over the world in places like NYC, LA, Brazil, Spain, London, Monterrey, Guam, & Japan keeps BT busy while working on Television Shows such as: Are We There Yet?, The Electric Company, Sesame Street, and The View.
With Directing in the foreground, BT's current work includes an Oboticario Commercial (Brazil), "Dokun" (Turkish MTV), "Dale Dale" Francesca Maria feat. Jayko, and many shorts and dance works.

|Leah Sykes-Hodgson is currently living in Las Vegas, NV with her husband where she has found her niche as a "Vegas Showgirl." Most recently Leah had the honor of performing in Cirque du Soleil's One Night For One Drop event created and directed by Mukhtar Mukhtar. She has had the privilege of working with Cirque du Soleil on other projects such as Light and One Drop Mosiac. For over a year, Leah enjoyed performing in Vegas! The Show at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino. Her other credits include Fun House (a new creation for Encore Hotel & Casino) working with director/choreographer Kenny Ortega, Robin Antin's the Pussycat Dolls, Spirit Productions in Dancing Queen and Spirit of the Dance, Golden Rainbow, Paul Mitchell Hair show, Broadway Bares XXIII, Top 13 females SYTYCD UK.|
|Danny Tidwell studied at Denise Wall's Dance Energy in Virginia Beach and Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C. He received silver medals in international ballet competitions in Shanghai and Jackson. In 2007, he was the runner up on "So You Think You Can Dance" followed by touring with the Top 10 finalist. Danny Tidwell has danced with the American Ballet Theatre, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and the Norwegian National Ballet. He has also performed the works of prominent choreographers, including Debbie Allen, William Forsythe, Travis Wall and Mia Michaels.|
A sociologist turned corporate analyst, Ava is now a trained life coach and accomplished dance instructor. Over several years of teaching dance, Ava has led her students through group coaching exercises in an effort to help them unlock their creativity and maintain healthy bodies.
With a desire to serve more people and reach a larger audience, Ava sought training with Celebrity Coach Jeannine Yoder to expand her knowledge around one on one coaching. She is excited to share her journey and facilitate your path to contentment through courage, creativity, and connection.
Combining her passion for dance and serving others, Ava helps dancers get out of their own way and create lives that they love through life coaching. "The day we stop learning is the day we die" and that is why Ava is constantly on a mission to learn and grown as a happy and healthy loving human while inspiring others to do the same!
